1. How did you find out about CVSC?
I found out about CVSC by googling gyms in Cache Valley. CVSC had such great reviews I decided to give it a try first and I never tried any others!
2. What is your favorite exercise or workout?
My favorite workouts have a lot of different movements we do for 5 or more rounds. I like to push myself but I also like when there is a lot of variety. This year I really enjoyed “The 12 days of Christmas” workout we did the Saturday before Christmas.
3. How long have you been a member at CVSC?
In May it will be 5 years
4. What do you do for a living?
I work in Sales at Juniper Systems. They make handheld rugged devices here in Cache Valley and ship them around the world.
5. What are your hobbies?
Hiking, Cross Country Skiing, Gardening, Reading, Camping, Backpacking, Traveling (I traveled for 9 weeks in Europe with my 3 kids), and spending time with friends and family.
6. What are your goals?
This year I am going to climb Grand Teton and hike the Rim to Rim. I would also like to hike 5,000 feet in elevation every week June-October. Last year I averaged 3,000 a week.
7. Why do you train?
I train primarily because it gives me more energy during the day and helps with my mental health. The secondary reason is I want to be able to do the outdoor activities I love without getting injured.
8. Any advice for future members?
Consistency is key for me. I show up and don’t worry too much about how hard the workout might be. Once I’m there I always get through the workout and feel better after. Also, you can always get through a workout even if you’re not feeling 100% by modifying it a little bit.
