Laurie Jaimes
1. How did you find out about CVSC?
I originally heard about CVSC because of an elective course I took through USU. A year or so later, one of my friends mentioned going to a gym and that I should join her. I realized it was the same one I had been to and I’ve been back since.
2. What is your favorite exercise or workout?
I love deadlifts and have really started to enjoy the cardio thrown into our workouts.
3. How long have you been a member at CVSC?
Since the end of 2020, if you don’t count a couple of breaks. I have been consistent for the past 13 months!
4. What do you do for a living?
I currently work for Utah State University as a Graduate Admissions Counselor for the School of Graduate Studies.
5. What are your hobbies?
My hobby (singular 😂) is coming to CVSC! I love it!!
6. What are your goals?
I have a goal of continuing to get stronger and be able to deadlift over 200 lbs. As far as personal goals, I am currently in a Master’s of Social Work program and am excited to graduate from that and be a professional social worker.
7. Why do you train?
I train to feel strong, healthy mentally, and to set time aside to work on myself outside of work, school, and being a parent.
8. Any advice for future members?
If you’re considering joining, do it! Everyone is so kind, helpful, and it is a judgement free zone. Everything can be modified and it really makes a huge difference on overall well-being.
